Home > Portfolio : Field Tests & Research Field Tests & ResearchNo matter how much thought and effort goes into content development, if it doesn’t work in the classroom, your resource won’t get used. Field-testing and research provide excellent ways to ensure that the materials developed will have educational relevance and be successful with classroom teachers and students. C3 has provided clients such as the MarcoPolo Education Foundation with preliminary research to help inform content development decisions, and data analysis to keep ongoing content development current and relevant. In addition, we have performed real-world teacher and student testing of developed materials to ensure client investment results in resources that are engaging, educationally relevant, and instructionally sound.C3 has developed teacher surveys, research strategies and tools, guided testing procedures, and other custom-created tools to facilitate research and field-testing. We deliver both statistical and anecdotal data from field-testing to deliver a well-rounded view of how the resource worked in the classroom. This portfolio includes examples of some of these tools. Field Tests![]() Click to download C3 developed and executed this instrument to evaluate usability, instructional design, and content integration into a series of interactives developed to complement a nutrition curriculum unit for the National Dairy Council. Student Field-Testing C3 field-tested the interactives developed for MarcoPolo with students in grades K–6. C3 developed sample grade-level appropriate content, created testing guides, recruited educators and students, organized testing results, and recommended changes to the interactives based on testing.
Lesson Analysis
Before developing an interactive suite for MarcoPolo, C3 surveyed lessons from all eight content partners to identify pedagogical techniques that were common to all partner lessons. C3 then developed a list of suggestions for interactives that could be developed to address those techniques, backed up by lesson survey data. |
