Evaluation & Revision

C3 has extensive experience in evaluating resources for educational content and grade-level appropriateness. Since 2000, we have reviewed more than 40,000 online resources for the MarcoPolo Search Engine, performed standards alignments with state and national standards, and reviewed existing stand-alone resources to ensure educational quality. We provide our clients with raw data or recommendations.

Many organizations have existing content that has become outdated. Some of our clients, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Field Museum, have asked us to review and evaluate their existing content. We review existing materials with the client's particular goals in mind. We then suggest revisions to give the content a fresh feel or to liven it up with interactive materials, and to ensure that it incorporates current classroom practices and is aligned to current standards.

MarcoPolo Search Engine
Since 2000, C3 has evaluated, individually reviewed, and cataloged over 40,000 resources for the MarcoPolo Consortium's Search Engine. C3 staff individually review each resource in the search engine. Using a custom-built cataloguing system, C3 writes a description, identifies keywords, and includes other pertinent information about each site. Each catalogued record is based on a set of standards and style sheets developed in coordination with the MarcoPolo partner organizations and undergoes a two-tiered peer review before becoming live in the search engine. C3 has also assumed the role of project management for the search engine, handling identification, creation, and maintenance updates of the search engine records.

NAEP-NCTM Standards Alignment
C3 has conducted standards alignment and review of instructional content for several organizations, including aligning the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) benchmarks to NCTM's Illuminations lessons and activities. Projects such as these can assist clients in targeting new content development to meet educational priorities.
