Custom Content
C3 has developed unique, custom resources designed for students and teachers for clients such as the International Reading Association and the Field Museum. Custom materials allow our clients to reach students and teachers with information in innovative ways. Our team of educators, researchers, writers, and web and Flash developers have applied their expertise and creativity to a number of unique projects including custom calendars, interactive missions, and accounts of encounters with creepy critters.

Calendars
Calendars providing daily activities or resources highlighting particular themes or sets of resources are among the custom content C3 has developed for our clients. This type of content typically incorporates an analysis of the targeted resources to be highlighted in order to identify themes and topics within a given timeframe. It also includes research into each event, write-ups about each one, peer and editorial review, and coding. To facilitate this work, C3 has developed a database of historical events, dates, and links to reference materials.

C3 has written numerous calendar entries for ReadWriteThink, a joint website of the International Reading Association and the National Council of Teachers of English.
- MarcoPolo Calendar

C3 researches, writes, and maintains the MarcoPolo Calendar, which highlights one topic each day and points to related MarcoPolo Partner resources. The project includes surveying partner resources to identify topics, selecting and researching events related to those topics, and writing, coding, and editing each entry.
Meet the Creepy Critters

These brief bug bios and quiz were written for the Field Museum's Underground Adventure online exhibit. They are part of an online activity in which student transmogrify to become a half-inch tall, then encounter common critters from their backyard soil.
Arianna Bones and the Pyramid of Food: National Dairy Council

C3 collaborated with the National Dairy Council and MMS Education to develop a comprehensive curriculum kit that instructs students on primary nutrition concepts and the food guide pyramid. Included with this kit were classroom-ready print lesson plans, interactive games (for which C3 provided the instructional design), and original support materials such as fictional stories. This unit will be available in schools during the 2005—2006 academic year.
