Sue Carmichael

Sue has been an educator for 21 years, with experience at preschool, elementary, kindergarten, high school, and adult education levels. She earned her Elementary Education teaching certification from the State University of New York at Geneseo, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She completed her Master of Science degree at Nazareth College of Rochester and is certified as a K-12 Reading Teacher in New York State.

After spending five years as a high school Reading Specialist, she returned to the Rush-Henrietta Central Schools as a Home Visitor and program assistant for the district's Even Start family literacy program. Sue joined the Cross-Curricular Connections team in April, 2002. Previously, she taught kindergarten for five years and has worked as a home and hospital tutor for elementary grade children.

In her spare time, Sue enjoys making beaded jewelry, reading, bowling, travel, relaxing with a puzzle, and spending time with her husband of 22 years and her children, Laura and David, who are 18 and 15, respectively. Sue and her family live in Western New York, in the greater Rochester area.
