Lucy Thorn

Lucy has worked for C3 since January 2001, reviewing and compiling records for the MarcoPolo Search Engine. Prior to that, she created several economics lesson plans for EconEdLink, part of the MarcoPolo partnership.

Lucy studied at Bishop Grosseteste College, Lincoln (U.K.) and the University of Hull (U.K.). In 1992, she completed her teacher training degree, earning a B.A. (Honors) Q.T.S., with specializations in Drama and in teaching 3-8 year-olds. She subsequently taught all curriculum areas to Reception (aged 4-5) for 2 years and Year 1 (aged 5-6) for 5 years.

She was Curriculum Coordinator for Information Technology and was responsible for overseeing delivery of the I.T. Curriculum throughout the school (Reception-Year 6: ages 4-11), resourcing classrooms, managing the school's I.T. budget, and organizing I.T. workshops for staff training. She was also Curriculum Coordinator for French and Art, and she acted as the school's Designated Child Protection Coordinator.

Lucy gave up teaching in 1999 to look after her young son, but has gained further qualifications in R.S.A. C.L.A.I.T. (Computer Literacy & Information Technology) and I.B.T.2 (Integrated Business Technology). She now works part-time from her home in East Sussex, England, where she lives with her husband and son.
