	Home > About C3 > Staff Profiles : Joe Kirstein Joe Kirstein In 1998, Joe obtained a BS in education from Georgia State University and began his teaching career as an upper elementary school teacher. He then decided to earn his MS in gesosciences with an emphasis in education from Mississippi State University and began teaching middle school math, science, and technology at an independent K-12 school in Asheville, North Carolina. He has served as grade level chair, science department chair, and technology coordinator for the middle school. After completing his master’s degree, Joe began developing inquiry-based, hands-on science and math activities for middle grades learners. Joe feels that the integration of technology into the classroom is a key component to teaching. Joe has worked to develop new curricula at his school and with curriculum development companies. He has provided feedback on new resources, developed activities, and tested new ideas in his classroom.
