Cassandra Love

As the Technology Manager for C3, Cassandra Love has worked on numerous projects for the MarcoPolo program as well as other projects, including content development, creation of interactive student materials, and maintenance of the MarcoPolo search engine. Before joining the C3 staff, she served as both Director of Education and Interim Director of the Colburn Earth Science Museum in Asheville, North Carolina, which served over 10,000 school children annually. She has also served as project coordinator for the YWCA's Operation Smart program and continues to teach science courses for gifted elementary and middle school students through a program at the University of North Carolina at Asheville in which she has taught for over six years. She became interested in graphic design while working with her husband in his sign company and has begun integrating those skills with her education background to create interactive student materials.

Cassandra has received a number of grants for educational projects, including an EPA Environmental Education Grant, which funded the development of an energy resources curriculum for 5th grade teachers, and a grant from the NC Humanities Council for cross-curricular museum programming. Her volunteer work includes serving on the Advisory Board for the YWCA's Girl's Inc. program and on the Board of Directors for Science Stars of Asheville.

Cassandra is a certified K-6 educator who received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University, graduating summa cum laude with a concentration in Anthropology and a minor in Sustainable Development. Cassandra feels that her strengths lie in developing engaging educational content with strong interdisciplinary connections. She currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband and two sons, where she enjoys gardening, hiking, and exploring the wealth of folklore the region has to offer.
